17th Annual Cotton Mill Open Studio & Holiday Sale

NECCA performer at Cotton Mill

New England Center for Circus Arts offers performances and sample classes during the Holiday Sale.

This year's Cotton Mill Open Studio and Holiday Sale will take place on Friday, Dec. 4, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.; Saturday, Dec. 5, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sunday, Dec. 6, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fifty artists and artisans will showcase and offer their work for purchase. Besides artists, musicians, bakers, performers, and craftspeople based at the Cotton Mill, talented artists and artisans from surrounding communities have been juried to participate in this seasonal celebration of the arts.

The spirited, sensory extravaganza includes performances of music, dance, and circus acts; ceramics and fencing demonstrations; food and wine tastings; raffles and more. The range of creative offerings is remarkable, encompassing the decorative, the functional, the entertaining, and the delicious. All members of the family will find sights, sounds, tastes, and activities to stimulate and delight them—and it's a terrific way to discover treasures for holiday giving. In addition, there will be a display of artwork by K-8 students from the Putney Grammar School.

A number of volunteers will be on hand to guide you around the three floors of the mill and direct you to Stephen Procter's studio in Building C. The event is handicap-accessible, and admission is free.

Be sure to enter the drawing for a free food basket, and consider purchasing raffle tickets for additional items created by the participating artists and artisans. Visit for info on each participant and more details on the weekend's performances and demonstrations listed below.
