This year's River Gallery School (RGS) Benefit Auction will be held 'in-house' for the first time on Saturday, November 10. The art school is celebrating 42 years of supporting artmaking for all, and with its newly expanded Main Street Studio and Gallery 34, the decision was made to invite the town into RGS studios for a fun-filled evening.

RGS spaces will be transformed from their usual daily function of art classes for kids, teens, and adults (easels, paint, and artwork everywhere!) into an event venue, with fine crafts, gift certificates, and donations from local vendors up for bid, including a variety of trips—ranging from an African photo-safari to a week in a Tuscan villa. Circulating hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar will keep patrons busy and happy.

Unexpected pop-up door prizes and a letterpress demo of printed cards will keep the excitement high. A raffle drawing will also be part of the evening's festivities, with tickets being sold for a chance to win a Perception kayak with Thule car carrier; a semester of tuition for an RGS class of your choice; a framed "Great Joy" painting by late RGS founder Ric Campman; or a whimsical handmade child's chair shaped like a giraffe.

Preview the growing list of generous donations from area artisans and merchants at the rivergalleryschool.org website, and buy raffle and event tickets online or by calling RGS at (802) 257-1577.

The school's Main Street windows will preview some of the items for bid in early November, and RGS's popular Clothesline Postcard Show & Sale will also be set up in time for early-bird pickings by Gallery Walk patrons.

The Auction begins promptly at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 10; buy your ticket ahead online to skip the line and get right to the fun. The various areas of objects up for bid will be closed consecutively beginning at 7:00 p.m., and the four Raffle winners will be picked at 7:30 to wrap up the event.

All proceeds benefit the inclusive programs of the school, including extensive scholarship funding, Outreach programming, and overall operating expenses. For more information about classes and workshops or to add your name to the River Gallery School's mailing list, visit online at rivergalleryschool.org.
